Esme Montgomery is a musician with experience performing in bands, as well as teaching Piano and Voice in New York City and in the Lehigh Valley. Esme grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, in NYC, with Artistic parents, and studied piano with Alicia Jonas, dance at Ballet Hispanico, and swam for the West Side YMCA, and the Gotham Kings, while attending P.S. 9, P.S. 166, I.S. 44, Manhattan East, and LaGuardia HS For Music and the Arts, where she studied the French Horn. Esme graduated from the The University of Chicago with BA in Psychology And Education, graduating with honors and co/captaining the swim team for 2 years. As an adult, Esme studied Vocal Technique with Cari Cole in NYC, and worked with independent label Water Music, in Hoboken, NJ, publicist/sociologist Howard Bloom, music Attorney George Stein, Esq., and so many amazing, lovely, inspiring musicians and people.
In 2025, a production of Catching the Bus, Esme’s one act, one actor play scheduled to be the New York Theater Festival, was unavoidably delayed, plans continue for a future incarnation.
Esme continues to be extremely pleased to have had two new compositions performed in concert by Dr. Chrissie Placilla~Viola, Thaddneus Palmer~Trumpet, Neal Perrine~Upright Bass, Glenjanée Robertson~Violin, Phil Stewart~Drums, and Robbie Lee~Piano & Voice, also in 2025.
Esme teaches at the Church Street School for Music and Art in Tribeca.
